hey, i'm new here and i'm sure you've heard this before. but im now the proud owner of a canon 514xl-s and i bought it specifically to do animation. i've seen people selling the original remote control that canon recommended on ebay ... but its kinda expensive.
i also heard that its possible to make one ... originally i thought it was powered by a plunger, much like that used to hold a shutter open on a camera. but am i right in thinking that its an electric switch? and that being the case ... has anyone ever made one? i know they use a 2.5mm jack ... but i'm not sure of anything else.
anyhelp would be great! i'm sooo happy to find a super8 forum!
cheers - sky

Hmmmmm.....
I thought this sounded like a familiar question:

Welcome to Super-8! The thing I really like about it is there are so many aspects to it that it never gets boring. You can make films, you can animate films, you can make soundtracks, you can collect commercial films, you can do transfers to video, you can play with cinemascope, you can do screen writing, you can do time lapse (and more...). The only limit is your imagination, time and budget.
